The Pittsburgh Steelers are aggressively pursuing top-tier receiving talent, with their sights set on two established NFL stars: Mike Williams of the New York Jets and Adam Thielen of the Carolina Panthers.
Mike Williams: A Number One Receiver?
Williams, 28, has consistently demonstrated his ability to be a number one receiver. With 2,764 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns over the past three seasons, he would provide a significant boost to the Steelers’ passing attack.
“Mike’s skillset would be a perfect fit for our offense,” said a Steelers source. “He’s got the size, speed, and hands to be a game-changer.”
Jets’ Asking Price
New York is reportedly seeking a first-round draft pick and a conditional mid-round selection in return for Williams. The Steelers, eager to bolster their receiving corps, may be willing to meet the Jets’ demands.
“Mike’s worth the investment,” said Steelers GM Omar Khan. “We’re exploring all options to upgrade our roster.”
Adam Thielen: Veteran Presence
Thielen, 33, brings a wealth of experience and reliability to the table. A seasoned receiver with 5,454 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns in his career, he would provide a steady presence alongside Diontae Johnson.
“Adam’s professionalism and work ethic would be contagious in our locker room,” said Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
Panthers’ Trade Stance
Carolina is reportedly open to trading Thielen, but at a reasonable price. The Steelers may need to surrender a mid-round draft pick to secure the veteran receiver.
“Adam’s still got game,” said Panthers GM Scott Fitterer. “We’re willing to listen to offers, but we won’t give him away.”
Steelers’ Receiving Corps Revamp
With Williams and/or Thielen on board, the Steelers would significantly revamp their receiving corps. Johnson, George Pickens, and Calvin Austin III would form a formidable supporting cast.
“This offseason, we’re focused on surrounding Kenny Pickett with playmakers,” said Tomlin. “Mike and Adam would be tremendous additions.”
