From the Gridiron to the Table: Tennessee Titans as Thanksgiving Dishes

Happy Thanksgiving, Titans fans! It’s time to kick back, watch some football, and enjoy a Thanksgiving feast filled with your favorite dishes.

Thanksgiving and the NFL are a classic pairing, as natural together as peanut butter and jelly.

For many of us, the two are inseparable. That’s why it’s hard for me to think about Thanksgiving without tying it to Tennessee Titans football.

If Titans players were Thanksgiving dishes, what would they be? Here’s my take:

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine – Stuffing/Dressing

Every Thanksgiving, people rediscover stuffing and think, “Why don’t we make this more often?” That’s exactly how Titans fans feel when Nick Westbrook-Ikhine catches a touchdown.

He always delivers when called upon, knowing exactly where to be. The Titans really ought to get him involved more often!

Calvin Ridley – Mac and Cheese

Mac and cheese is always delicious and one of the highlights of any Thanksgiving spread.

Yet, it sparks debates—does it truly belong on the Thanksgiving table? Similarly, Calvin Ridley is consistently productive and reliable, likely finishing the season with over 1,000 receiving yards.

But the lingering question remains: can you build an offense around him? Is he truly a WR1?

Jeffery Simmons – Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin pie is a staple. It’s one of the big names of Thanksgiving, and while some may claim it’s overrated, it always comes through in the clutch.

When it’s crunch time, Big Jeff is the closer for the Titans defense. As the team’s highest-paid player, he’s earned his spot as the star.

Nicholas Petit-Frere – Turkey

Turkey is big and impressive on the surface, much like Nicholas Petit-Frere stepping off the bus.

But when it comes down to it, turkey often underwhelms, no matter how many chances you give it.

You eat it out of obligation, not enthusiasm. If there were other options, you’d choose those instead—just like the Titans would if they had better choices.

Jarvis Brownlee Jr. – A Good Casserole

Casseroles aren’t the headliners of the meal, but they have the potential to surprise you. They can go from an afterthought to the star of the table.

Similarly, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. wasn’t expected to be a centerpiece of the Titans defense, especially with the high-profile additions of L’Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie.

But thrust into action, Brownlee has turned heads week after week.

Harold Landry III – Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce isn’t the main attraction, but it complements everything else on the table.

Harold Landry III plays a similar role for the Titans defense. Often overshadowed by the likes of Jeffery Simmons, Arden Key, and T’Vondre Sweat, Landry quietly makes everything better.

Will Levis – Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are the most anticipated part of many Thanksgiving meals. When they’re done right—creamy, buttery, and perfectly cooked—they’re unforgettable.

But when they’re bad—dry, lumpy, or overly soupy—they can ruin the whole plate. Will Levis is much the same for the Titans offense.

His potential is undeniable, but when things go wrong, it’s a glaring issue for the team.
