Stewart-Haas Racing Exits NASCAR: Charters Sold Amid Legal Disputes

Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), a prominent team in NASCAR, concluded its operations in the NASCAR Cup Series at the end of the 2024 season. The organization held four charters, which are essential for teams to participate in the Cup Series. These charters have been sold to various existing teams:

• Front Row Motorsports: Acquired one of SHR’s charters, facilitating their expansion to a three-car lineup for the 2025 season.

• 23XI Racing: Purchased another charter from SHR, enabling their growth within the series.

• Trackhouse Racing: Secured one of the charters, contributing to their strategic development.

The destination of the fourth charter remains undisclosed.

The sale of these charters has been subject to delays due to ongoing legal proceedings involving NASCAR, 23XI Racing, and Front Row Motorsports. These legal challenges have impacted the timely transfer of charters, affecting teams’ preparations for the upcoming season.

While SHR has exited NASCAR, the Haas name continues in motorsports through the Haas F1 Team, which competes in Formula 1. The team, owned by Gene Haas, remains active and is preparing for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Recent developments include the retention of their FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation, reflecting their commitment to sustainability.

In summary, Stewart-Haas Racing has ceased its NASCAR operations, with its charters redistributed among other teams. However, the Haas presence persists in Formula 1, where the team continues to compete on the global stage.
