Justin Marks Outlines Future Plans for Trackhouse Racing’s Project 91 and Indy 500 Aspirations

Trackhouse Racing co-owner Justin Marks has provided insights into the future of the team’s Project 91 initiative and expressed aspirations to compete in the Indianapolis 500, signaling the organization’s commitment to expanding its presence across multiple racing disciplines.

Project 91’s Future Endeavors

Launched in 2022, Project 91 aims to introduce international racing talent to the NASCAR Cup Series. The program has previously featured drivers like 2007 Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen. Looking ahead, Marks indicated that Project 91 will continue, albeit with a potentially limited schedule in 2025. He stated, “It comes down to resources, people, bandwidth… We’ve got three (full-time) cars that we’re going to be competing with this year to try to get into the playoffs. That is really the priority of the company.” This suggests that while Project 91 remains active, its activities will be balanced against the team’s core commitments.

Indianapolis 500 Ambitions

Marks also revealed a strong desire to see Trackhouse Racing compete in the Indianapolis 500, though not in the immediate future. He remarked, “It’s certainly a dream of mine to have Trackhouse represented in that race… I don’t think that the Trackhouse story will ever be complete without us competing in the world’s greatest open-wheel race.” While acknowledging the complexities involved, Marks emphasized that the team would take a “real hard look” at entering the Indy 500 when the timing aligns with their strategic goals.

Strategic Growth and Diversification

Under Marks’ leadership, Trackhouse Racing has demonstrated a commitment to diversifying its motorsport portfolio. Beyond NASCAR, the organization has expanded into MotoGP, reflecting a broader vision to establish a presence in various racing series. Marks’ comments about the Indy 500 and the continuation of Project 91 underscore this strategic approach to growth and diversification within the motorsport industry.

In summary, while Trackhouse Racing prioritizes its core NASCAR operations, the team remains open to exploring opportunities that align with its long-term vision, including potential future participation in the Indianapolis 500 and the continuation of Project 91 with select engagements.
