Anthony Alfredo is no stranger to juggling multiple roles in the NASCAR world, but 2024 might be his busiest season yet. As he prepares to attempt the Daytona 500 with Beard Motorsports, competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Young’s Motorsports, and works as a simulator driver for Hendrick Motorsports, Alfredo is proving that versatility is key to making it in the sport.

From Virtual to Reality: Alfredo’s Unique Role at Hendrick
While most drivers focus solely on their race team commitments, Alfredo’s day job adds another layer to his career. As a simulator driver for Hendrick Motorsports, he plays a critical role in helping the powerhouse Cup team fine-tune their setups before hitting the track.
Hendrick’s state-of-the-art simulator allows engineers and drivers to test different setups and strategies before ever turning a real lap. Alfredo’s job is to provide precise feedback, helping stars like Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, William Byron, and Alex Bowman prepare for upcoming races.
“It’s a huge responsibility,” Alfredo told NASCAR on FOX. “The feedback I give directly impacts what those guys feel on race day. It’s been an incredible learning experience and has helped me improve my own racecraft, too.”
Attempting “The Great American Race”
Alfredo’s biggest challenge, however, is ahead of him: qualifying for his first Daytona 500. He’ll be piloting the No. 62 Chevrolet for Beard Motorsports, a small but well-respected team known for strong superspeedway performances. With only a limited number of open spots available in the field, Alfredo must either race his way in through the Duel qualifying races or post a fast enough time in single-car qualifying.
“It’s a dream come true just to have this opportunity,” Alfredo said. “Beard Motorsports has a history of being really competitive at these tracks, and I’m going to do everything I can to put this car in the race.”
Full-Time Xfinity Campaign with Young’s Motorsports
On top of his Daytona 500 attempt and simulator duties, Alfredo will also be racing full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Young’s Motorsports. While the team is relatively new to the Xfinity ranks, Alfredo’s experience could help them grow into a competitive force.
“I’m excited for what we’re building at Young’s Motorsports,” Alfredo said. “It’s a new challenge, but I think we can surprise some people this year.”
Balancing It All
With so much on his plate, how does Alfredo manage? According to him, it all comes down to preparation and passion.

“I love racing in any form, whether it’s in the simulator, an Xfinity car, or a Cup car,” he said. “Every opportunity I get to be in a race car makes me better, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
As he eyes a spot in the Daytona 500, kicks off his full-time Xfinity campaign, and continues his work with Hendrick Motorsports, Anthony Alfredo is proving that in NASCAR, the grind never stops.
