Sprint car driver Aaron Reutzel was hospitalized following an incident during the High Limit Sprint Car Series event at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 15, 2025. During the Dash event, a rock reportedly struck Reutzel’s visor, causing him to slow to a stop on Lap 2. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Reutzel’s team, Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR), later confirmed that he sustained a broken nose and required stitches. Fortunately, a CT scan returned normal results. There is no official word yet on his potential return to racing, including participation in the upcoming event at Tulare on Wednesday.
In Reutzel’s absence, Justin Sanders stepped in to pilot the No. 87 car in the main event but retired early from the race.
The Las Vegas dirt track has a history of challenges with rocks on the surface, which have affected races in the past. Despite efforts to mitigate this issue, such incidents continue to pose risks to drivers.
The racing community extends its best wishes to Aaron Reutzel for a swift recovery.
