In recent years, the Philadelphia 76ers have seen many different role players join their team to support their main stars. One of these players was P.J. Tucker, who is still active in his career well into his 30s.
After winning a championship with the Milwaukee Bucks two years ago, Tucker joined the Sixers in the summer of 2022. He played one complete season with the team, where he averaged 3.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game over 75 games.
At the beginning of last season, Tucker’s time in Philadelphia ended. He, along with James Harden, was traded to the LA Clippers. Unfortunately, this didn’t work out well for the experienced forward, as he ended up sitting at the end of the bench and hardly got any playing time.
This season, Tucker found himself on the move again, as he was included in a multi-team trade that brought Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors. After that, he was bought out, which let him explore other opportunities in the market.
Even though Tucker is about to turn 40, he found a spot in the NBA. After signing two 10-day contracts, the New York Knicks have given him a multi-year deal. Insider Shams Charania reports that Tucker is signed for this season and has a team option for 2026. Now, Tucker will try to bring his championship and veteran experience to a team that wants to compete in the Eastern Conference. With the regular season ending, the Knicks are in third place with a record of 47-27.
