“Frustrated” after finishing fifth in the NASCAR Truck Series race in Michigan, Corey LaJoie commented on his performance

Corey LaJoie was still upset about what could have happened in the final laps of Saturday’s race at Michigan International Speedway, even though he finished fifth in his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series appearance of 2025. LaJoie was in the front row for the afternoon’s first overtime restart after a massive crash on the Lap 121 restart. However, LaJoie decided to start the race in the outside lane, behind another truck, for the final restart after two more crashes drove the race into triple overtime. LaJoie was ultimately killed by that choice because he was unable to contend for the victory in the last two laps. LaJoie, who is making his 303rd start in NASCAR’s top three series, is still looking for his first win.
LaJoie told Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports, “I don’t count my chickens anymore, because we’ve been so close so many times.” “It has never worked out for me. I was certain that we were in the proper place. I’m simply very irritated. We often remark that the front row is chosen by the winners. “We didn’t take advantage of the opportunity to select the front row. We were following the outside lane since it seemed to always win out over the inside lane. However, the push didn’t arrive, the lane was soft, and we were essentially trapped in poor air quality. However, a top-five result in his season-opening Truck Series start provides a solid foundation for LaJoie. His upcoming competition with Spire Motorsports and the No. 07 team will come at Richmond on Aug. 15. LaJoie will also pilot the No. 07 Chevrolet in the seven races that make up the Truck Series playoffs in an attempt to win the owners championship for Spire.
