Kris Wright Reportedly Released from Our Motorsports After Unusual Incident with Charlotte Police

In a bizarre turn of events, Kris Wright has reportedly been released from Our Motorsports following an off-track incident that raised eyebrows across the NASCAR garage.

According to multiple sources, Wright was ticketed by Charlotte police for allegedly driving too slowly below the posted speed limit—a rare citation in itself. The situation took another unusual twist when Wright is said to have asked his then-team, Our Motorsports, to cover the cost of the fine.

That request reportedly did not sit well with team leadership, and shortly thereafter, Wright was released from his driving duties.

Our Motorsports has not publicly commented on the incident or confirmed whether it was the primary factor in their decision to part ways with the 29-year-old driver. Wright, a Pennsylvania native with experience across ARCA, Trucks, and Xfinity competition, has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

Wright joined Our Motorsports earlier this year as part of their Xfinity Series program but struggled to find consistent pace in the highly competitive field. His departure leaves the team with a seat to fill as they continue their 2025 campaign.

This unusual situation has fueled discussion among fans and insiders alike, with some questioning whether there were already tensions between Wright and the team before the Charlotte incident.

As of now, it remains unclear who will take over Wright’s seat for the remainder of the season.
