NBA legend Magic Johnson shares his thoughts on the news about the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Earlier this week, ESPN’s Shams Charania shared that Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore have officially taken over ownership of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Glen Taylor had been the owner of the team for 31 years. According to Charania on April 2, Glen Taylor and Marc Lore-Alex Rodriguez have finally agreed to transfer full ownership to Lore-Rodriguez after a long struggle. Sources have informed ESPN that Taylor will not challenge the decision made by Minnesota arbitrators, who favored Lore-Rodriguez in February. The NBA will begin the process of transferring ownership.

Following the big announcement, Basketball Hall of Famer Magic Johnson shared a post on X. His post received more than 2,000 likes and reached 145,000 people.

On April 2, he wrote: “I’m thrilled about today’s news that my friend Alex Rodriguez and his partner Marc Lore are now the sole owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves!” The Timberwolves are one of the most interesting teams in the NBA. They just finished a season where they made it to the Western Conference finals for the first time in two decades. Charania also mentioned that Glen Taylor has agreed to let Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez buy 100% of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx for the same $1.5 billion price that both sides settled on in 2021.

Currently, the Timberwolves hold the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a record of 45 wins and 32 losses after playing 77 games. They have won 7 out of their last 10 games and are on a four-game winning streak. The Timberwolves also feature one of the NBA’s top young talents, Anthony Edwards, who was the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
