Russell Westbrook Sets an NBA Record in the Nuggets vs. Jazz Game.

The Denver Nuggets have a new triple-double star in their lineup with three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, but he is still a long way from becoming the all-time leader in this category in NBA history. That title currently belongs to Russell Westbrook. While Westbrook achieved most of his triple-doubles as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, he has adapted his style to help the talented Nuggets as a seasoned player.

Whether he starts or comes off the bench, Westbrook has been playing very well alongside Jokic. In Denver’s game on Friday night against the Utah Jazz, Westbrook, coming off the bench, reached two important milestones in his Hall of Fame career.

Westbrook has moved up to eighth place in NBA history for assists, surpassing the legendary Oscar Robertson. He not only passed Robertson to become the all-time leader in triple-doubles, but he also overtook him again for assists.

In addition to his historic achievement with assists, Westbrook has now claimed the 16th spot for the most steals in NBA history, going ahead of Lakers icon Kobe Bryant. He entered Friday’s game tied with Bryant and passed him with a single steal. It’s rare for Westbrook to climb two all-time leaderboards in one night. Although Westbrook has achieved a lot on his own throughout his career, he has a chance this season to change how people view him as a player by winning his first NBA championship. The road won’t be easy, but this might be Westbrook’s best opportunity since his time with the Thunder.
