5 Must-Watch Moments in the Cowboys vs. Steelers Sunday Night Clash

Here are five things to watch as the Dallas Cowboys face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers:

1. The Running Men
Stopping the run is always crucial for the Cowboys, and the Steelers’ backfield poses a challenge.

Najee Harris is a grinder, though not overly efficient, averaging 3.4 yards per carry this season.

The Cowboys will also need to watch out for Cordarrelle Patterson and quarterback Justin Fields, who is dangerous with his legs. Discipline will be key to containing these threats.

2. Slim Pickens at WR
The Steelers’ passing game relies heavily on George Pickens, but beyond him, they lack depth at wide receiver. Tight end Pat Freiermuth is their secondary option.

The Cowboys, missing Brandin Cooks, face a similar situation, with CeeDee Lamb leading the charge. Look for lesser-known receivers on both teams to step up.

3. Playing the Fields
Steelers QB Justin Fields has been solid but prone to fumbles.

The Cowboys’ defense needs to pressure him and force mistakes. Fields has been effective, but the Cowboys can capitalize on his tendency to try to do too much at times.

4. Look a Little Deeper
Dak Prescott has been quick to release the ball this season, often short of the sticks. While this helps avoid pressure from guys like T.J. Watt, the Cowboys need to take more shots downfield to keep the defense honest.

Prescott has been effective under pressure, but he needs to be more patient and aggressive when the situation calls for it.

  1. Can’t Stay Grounded Forever

With Dalvin Cook sidelined again, the usual suspects will be handling the rushing duties this week.

Despite the Cowboys’ rushing unit ranking third in the league for expected yards, the reality is far from that.

They’re currently averaging just 3.7 yards per carry, the second-worst in the NFL.

This matchup isn’t ideal for turning things around in the run game, as the Steelers’ defense ranks second in fewest rushing yards allowed per attempt.

Given the Cowboys’ struggles on the ground, this game could become one-dimensional quickly.

They’ll need to find a way to gain some traction in their rushing attack.
