Inactive Cowboys Rookie Defender Faces NFL Disciplinary Action

The Dallas Cowboys defense in 2024 just can’t seem to catch a break.

Even players sidelined by injury are making headlines for the wrong reasons, adding to a frustrating season for many defenders.

NFL Suspends Sam Williams
According to Ian Rapoport, Cowboys defensive lineman Sam Williams has been suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

Williams will serve a three-game suspension.

Currently, Williams is out for the season due to a torn ACL.

The suspension is related to Williams’ reckless driving charges from 2023 and took effect ahead of Week 8.

Since he’s on injured reserve, he won’t receive compensation during those three weeks, as he normally would.

Players on IR are typically still paid despite their inability to play due to injury.

Williams will not have to miss any additional games next season when he returns from his ACL injury.
