I think it’s stupid.”
In response, younger drivers like Ryan Blaney suggested that veterans could receive similar promotion if they were more willing to engage in marketing efforts. Blaney remarked, “If those certain people would be willing to do more things, then NASCAR would use them.”
More recently, Busch has faced criticism for competing in the NASCAR Truck Series, a platform often seen as a developmental stage for emerging drivers. After a victory in Texas, some fans likened it to “LeBron winning against 8th graders,” suggesting that his participation might overshadow opportunities for younger talent.
Additionally, Busch has voiced concerns about the erosion of respect among drivers in the Cup Series, stating that it has been “completely lost.”
