The Kansas City Chiefs are aiming to improve their record to 7-0 on Sunday as they face the Las Vegas Raiders in an AFC West showdown.
In preparation for the game, the Chiefs made a significant move by acquiring All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in a trade.
Although the team has not officially confirmed if Hopkins will be active against the Raiders, his presence could be crucial given the current injury concerns on the roster.
Ahead of the matchup, offensive coordinator Matt Nagy highlighted Hopkins’ strengths on the field.
“The biggest thing right now is his hands are phenomenal,” Nagy said. “He has really, really good hands.
I think he’s got some of the least amount of drops in the history of the NFL, but the experience that he has.
What comes, I think, with that is trust. He’s played in a lot of games, he understands and he’s seen a bunch of different defenses. That’s valuable, whether it’s zone or man.”
Nagy also touched on Hopkins’ off-the-field attributes and how they could influence the team.
“One of the things you see on tape, you see it in interviews, but then when he’s here, up close and live and in person, you see the confidence and the swagger he has,” said Nagy.
“I think that confidence can really penetrate, and you feel that with the other players.
You’ve got to go out and do it. We’re at the beginning stages, but he really does a lot of good things in zones, too.”
