Mike Macdonald’s Seahawks Announce Signing as Sam Darnold’s Offence Receive Big Warning on 6’6 Protector

The Seattle Seahawks have made significant moves to bolster their offense under head coach Mike Macdonald, notably signing quarterback Sam Darnold and offensive lineman Josh Jones.

Sam Darnold, 27, joins the Seahawks on a multi-year contract after a standout season with the Minnesota Vikings, where he earned Pro Bowl honors by throwing for 4,319 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, leading the team to a 14-3 record. His reunion with offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak in Seattle is anticipated to bring continuity and further development to the Seahawks’ offense.

To enhance protection for Darnold, the Seahawks have signed offensive tackle Josh Jones. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 339 pounds, Jones brings versatility and experience to the offensive line. A Houston native and University of Houston alumnus, he was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Jones has since played for the Cardinals, Houston Texans, and Baltimore Ravens before joining Seattle on a one-year, $4.75 million contract.

Jones expressed enthusiasm about joining the Seahawks, highlighting the team’s winning culture under Coach Macdonald and his own ability to play multiple positions on the offensive line.

These acquisitions reflect the Seahawks’ commitment to strengthening their offense and providing robust protection for Darnold as they prepare for the upcoming season.
