It’s time for another edition of Seahawks Reacts! Confidence polling will undoubtedly remain high after last week’s win over the New York Jets.
Thankfully, there’s no confidence polling for special teams coach Jay Harbaugh—those results might paint a different picture.
After a brief break last week, we’re bringing back the score prediction segment for the Seahawks’ rematch against the Arizona Cardinals.
The last matchup saw Seattle secure a 10-point victory, which, by Seahawks standards, qualifies as a convincing blowout. Will this week’s outcome be any different?
Our main question this week focuses on Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle’s rising star at receiver.
He’s been outstanding since Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams, thriving particularly in critical 3rd and 4th-down situations.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba on 3rd/4th downs this season:
T-7th in receptions (21)
5th in receiving yards (276)
T-4th in first downs gained (17)— Field Gulls (@FieldGulls) December 3, 2024
Smith-Njigba has recorded 70 catches for 829 yards and 4 touchdowns so far this season, leading all Seahawks receivers in each category.
With five games left in the regular season, he has a real shot at surpassing Tyler Lockett’s single-season franchise record for receptions.
Lockett set the record with 100 catches in 2020, becoming the first (and only) Seahawk to reach triple digits.
Thanks to the added game and Seattle’s pass-heavy offense, Smith-Njigba has a strong chance to top that mark. The question is: Will he?
