Daytona Beach, FL – In a heartfelt tribute to the late Sherry Pollex, AdventHealth officially opened the SherryStrong Integrative Wellness Center at its Daytona Beach Cancer Institute on Friday. The center, named in honor of Pollex’s tireless advocacy for cancer patients and holistic healing, will serve as a beacon of hope for those battling the disease.

Among those in attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony were seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson and Pollex’s parents, Nancy and Greg Pollex, who have continued her legacy following her passing in September 2023 after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
A Legacy of Compassion and Advocacy
Pollex, well known within the NASCAR community for her work in cancer awareness and patient support, was instrumental in establishing the SherryStrong initiative, which emphasized holistic wellness, integrative medicine, and emotional healing alongside traditional cancer treatments.
Her impact reached far beyond the racetrack, as she dedicated her life to helping others through initiatives like Catwalk for a Cause, which supported pediatric cancer patients, and her advocacy for a whole-body approach to cancer care.
A Healing Space for Cancer Patients
The SherryStrong Integrative Wellness Center will provide cancer patients with access to nutrition counseling, yoga therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, mental health resources, and other holistic treatments designed to improve quality of life. The goal is to complement traditional medical treatments with mind-body healing practices, something Pollex strongly believed in throughout her own battle with cancer.
“Sherry’s passion was helping others navigate their cancer journey with love and hope,” said Nancy Pollex, Sherry’s mother. “This center is a perfect way to honor her and continue the work she was so passionate about.”
NASCAR’s Continued Support for Sherry’s Mission
Pollex’s influence within the NASCAR industry was evident in the support shown at the ceremony. Jimmie Johnson, a longtime friend, joined the Pollex family in celebrating the center’s opening, underscoring how much she meant to the sport and its community.

“Sherry’s strength and kindness inspired so many of us,” Johnson said. “It’s incredible to see her legacy continue in a way that will help so many people.”
A Lasting Tribute
As the doors of the SherryStrong Integrative Wellness Center open, they serve as a lasting tribute to Sherry Pollex’s unwavering commitment to making life better for cancer patients. Her mission continues, ensuring that those facing cancer receive not only treatment but also compassion, support, and holistic care—just as she always envisioned.
