Amazon has made a big announcement about NASCAR as the 2025 schedule has been unveiled.

In a landmark development for motorsports broadcasting, Amazon Prime Video has announced its entry into NASCAR coverage, starting with the 2025 season. This move is part of NASCAR’s new media rights agreement, which also includes Fox, NBC, and TNT Sports, collectively averaging $1.1 billion annually over the next seven years.

Amazon’s NASCAR Coverage Details

Amazon Prime Video will exclusively stream five NASCAR Cup Series races each season, beginning with the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 25, 2025. In addition to race broadcasts, Prime Video will offer exclusive coverage of practice and qualifying sessions for most of the first half of the season, excluding marquee events like the Busch Light Clash, Daytona 500, and the All-Star Race.

Broadcast Team Lineup

To deliver comprehensive and engaging coverage, Amazon has assembled a seasoned broadcast team. Veteran announcer Adam Alexander will handle play-by-play duties, joined by analysts Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte. This trio brings a wealth of experience and insight, promising fans an immersive viewing experience.

Sponsorship of Chase Elliott’s No. 9 Car

In a strategic move to promote its NASCAR coverage, Amazon Prime has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Hendrick Motorsports. As part of this deal, Amazon will serve as the primary sponsor for Chase Elliott’s No. 9 Chevrolet in three races annually from 2025 through 2027. The Prime Video-themed car will debut at Talladega Superspeedway on April 27, 2025, followed by appearances at Kansas Speedway on May 11 and the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 18.

Innovative Fan Engagement Initiatives

Beyond traditional race broadcasts, Amazon is enhancing fan engagement through exclusive content. Collaborating with NASCAR, Amazon Prime Video is producing a four-part documentary series about the legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr., set to premiere in 2025. This series aims to provide fans with an in-depth look at Earnhardt’s life and legacy, enriching the overall NASCAR viewing experience.

Amazon’s foray into NASCAR broadcasting signifies a significant shift in how fans will experience the sport, blending traditional race coverage with innovative streaming and exclusive content.
