Antonio Brown Eyes NASCAR Team Ownership Amid Financial Turmoil

Former NFL star Antonio Brown has recently expressed interest in joining the NASCAR world, not just as a driver but potentially as a team owner. In a social media post, Brown stated, “Antonio Brown. NASCAR. Let’s make it happen @NASCAR @markmartin,” signaling his ambition to enter the motorsport arena.

This announcement comes on the heels of Brown applying for a NASCAR competition license, indicating a serious intent to participate in the sport.

However, Brown’s history with sports team ownership raises questions about his readiness for such a venture. In 2023, he acquired a majority stake in the Albany Empire, a National Arena League football team. His tenure was marred by financial mismanagement, including unpaid dues and reversed payments, leading to the team’s expulsion from the league.

Further complicating matters, Brown filed for bankruptcy in 2024, owing nearly $3 million to various creditors.

Despite these challenges, Brown’s interest in NASCAR has garnered attention from the racing community. NASCAR driver Noah Gragson responded positively to Brown’s social media outreach, stating, “I love @AB84.”

As Brown explores opportunities in NASCAR, his previous experiences underscore the importance of financial stability and organizational acumen in team ownership. Whether he can translate his passion into a successful venture remains to be seen.
