Carson Hocevar Fuels NASCAR Buzz with Race Track Purchase

Carson Hocevar finished 18th in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Phoenix on November 10, a fitting end to his rookie season where he averaged a 18.6 finishing position.

His year included six top-10 finishes and one top-five, solid numbers that earned the 21 year old driver the 2024 Cup Rookie of the Year honors.

Driving the No. 77 car for Spire Motorsports, Hocevar heads into 2025 with elevated expectations, as the team added veteran race-winning driver Michael McDowell to its roster during the offseason.

McDowell joins Hocevar and No. 7 teammate Justin Haley in the Spire lineup.

On Friday, however, Hocevar wasn’t focused on the future but rather on the present when he posted a cryptic message on X.

“I bought a race track,” he wrote simply.

The post immediately sparked fan speculation.

“He’s rebuilding Fontana,” one fan suggested.

“Lego?” another joked.

“Nice. Can I come over?” a fan asked. “I’m fairly decent on the ole iRacing.”
“That’s a gateway purchase,” someone quipped.

“Before long, you’ll be posting that you’ve purchased a race team.”

Hours later, Hocevar followed up with a photo revealing the “race track” he bought: a detailed model of Martinsville Speedway.

The setup featured the full Cup Series lineup, including his No. 77 car on track.

The No. 7 Spire car was shown on pit road, and Hocevar added small details like the tire marks from Ross Chastain’s “Hail Melon” move in 2023 and Martinsville’s iconic hot dog stand.

With the 2024 offseason in full swing, Hocevar’s post added a playful touch to his growing reputation.
