Heim Dominates Darlington; Owner Points Mirror Driver Success

DARLINGTON, S.C. — August 30, 2025

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series postseason momentum remains firmly in Corey Heim’s control after his dominant performance at Darlington Raceway. Heim captured his eighth win of the season in the Sober or Slammer 200, the opening race of the Round of 10, propelling both himself and his car owner to the top of the standings.

Corey Heim now leads the playoff standings with 2124 points—a commanding 59-point advantage over Layne Riggs.  Layne Riggs, despite his early dominance—leading a race-high 71 laps—slid to second after contact with the wall dropped him to 17th.  Daniel Hemric claimed second on track, earning enough points to move into third overall with 2060 points.

Mirroring Heim’s drivers’ championship run, Johnny Gray, owner of the No. 11 truck fielded by TRICON Garage, leads the Owners’ Championship standings with a substantial point total of 2124. 

Bob Jenkins, owner of the No. 34 truck, sits comfortably in second, while Bill McAnally, behind the wheel of the No. 19, holds third in owner points with 2059—reflecting Hemric’s consistency. 

What Happened at Darlington?

Heim captured the Darlington win by holding off Hemric by 0.766 seconds, clinching his 19th career victory in the Truck Series.  Riggs, despite starting from the pole and leading the most laps (71), suffered contact with the wall during a late-race challenge, derailing his shot at victory.  The win locks Heim into the Round of 8, reinforcing his status as the early playoff favorite.
