A recent viral video has ignited controversy in Central Florida, capturing a motorcyclist performing a dangerous stunt by jumping over the Main Street drawbridge in Daytona Beach during Bike Week. This incident has raised significant concerns among law enforcement officials, who view it as part of a growing trend of reckless motorcycle stunts on public roads.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has been actively addressing this issue, highlighting the dangers posed by such stunts. In one tragic case, a 31-year-old motorcyclist from Orlando was killed while attempting a stunt on Interstate 95 in Brevard County. Witnesses reported that the rider stood on his motorcycle seat with arms outstretched before losing control and falling onto the roadway, where he was struck by multiple vehicles.
FHP officials emphasize that these actions not only endanger the riders but also pose significant risks to other motorists. Lt. Kim Montes of FHP stated, “The theory that they’re not hurting anybody, that they’re not scaring anybody, that they’re not intimidating anybody, that’s not true.”
The proliferation of such stunt videos on social media platforms has further complicated enforcement efforts, as these acts are often glamorized online. Law enforcement agencies are urging riders to consider the severe consequences of these dangerous behaviors and are working to implement measures to deter such activities on public roads.
As investigations continue, authorities are calling for increased public awareness and cooperation to address the hazards associated with motorcycle stunt riding in Central Florida.
