The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) has announced its 2026 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule, maintaining consistency with previous seasons while introducing a significant change: Road America will now host a six-hour endurance race as part of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.
Key Highlights of the 2026 Schedule:
- Season Opener: The 64th Rolex 24 At Daytona is set for January 24-25, 2026, following the Roar Before the Rolex 24 test sessions from January 15-18.
- Sebring 12 Hours: The 74th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring will take place on March 21, 2026, continuing its tradition as a cornerstone endurance event.
- Sprint Season Kickoff: The sprint segment begins with the Long Beach Street Circuit hosting GTP and GTD classes on April 18, 2026.
- West Coast Swing: Teams will compete at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from May 1-3, 2026, featuring GTP, GTD PRO, and GTD classes.
- Detroit Grand Prix: GTP and GTD PRO classes will race on the streets of Detroit on May 30, 2026.
- Six Hours of The Glen: Watkins Glen International will host all four classes for this endurance event on June 28, 2026.
- Canadian Tire Motorsport Park: LMP2, GTD PRO, and GTD classes will compete at CTMP on July 12, 2026.
- Road America Six-Hour Race: Elevated to a six-hour endurance race, Road America will feature all four classes from July 30 to August 2, 2026, marking its debut in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.
- VIRginia International Raceway: The GT-only round is scheduled for August 23, 2026.
- Indianapolis Motor Speedway: All classes will return to The Brickyard for a two-hour and 40-minute race from September 18-20, 2026.
- Season Finale: The 28th annual Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta will conclude the season on October 3, 2026.
IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge:
The 2026 Michelin Pilot Challenge mirrors the 2025 schedule, comprising ten rounds. Notably, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will host a standalone four-hour endurance race from June 5-7, 2026. The season begins with a four-hour race at Daytona on January 24 and concludes at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on October 3, 2026.

IMSA President John Doonan emphasized the collaborative effort in early schedule announcements, stating, “This collective spirit will help our paddock and fans in preparation for next season.”
The 2026 schedule reflects IMSA’s commitment to stability while enhancing the championship with strategic adjustments, notably the elevation of Road America’s race to endurance status.
