Hendrick Motorsports vice chairman Jeff Gordon has reaffirmed his confidence in Alex Bowman, emphasizing the support the No. 48 driver has within the organization. Gordon’s comments came following a solid performance by Bowman and his team at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where they showcased resilience and determination.

“I think what we’ve worked on the most is just making sure he knows he’s got the support behind him,” Gordon said, underscoring the faith Hendrick Motorsports has in Bowman as he continues his campaign in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Bowman, who has been with Hendrick Motorsports since 2016 and took over the No. 48 car from Jimmie Johnson in 2021, has faced a mix of highs and challenges throughout his tenure. While his talent is unquestioned, injuries and inconsistent runs in recent seasons have led to speculation about his future. However, Gordon’s latest remarks make it clear that the team remains fully committed to its driver.
At Homestead, Bowman and the No. 48 team delivered a strong showing, demonstrating the speed and competitiveness that have made them a force in the Cup Series. While he didn’t secure a victory, his performance was enough to draw praise from Gordon, who noted the progress the team has made.
“He’s got everything he needs to succeed,” Gordon added. “We believe in Alex, and we’re working every week to make sure he’s in the best possible position to win.”
With continued backing from one of NASCAR’s most successful organizations, Bowman will look to capitalize on that support as the season progresses. Hendrick Motorsports has long been known for its ability to develop and sustain top-tier talent, and Bowman appears to remain firmly in their plans moving forward.
Next up, Bowman and the team will set their sights on the upcoming race, where they’ll aim to build on their momentum and continue their push for a strong season.
