Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) has unveiled its preliminary plans for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series, confirming a star-studded lineup of talented drivers for its fleet of Toyota Supras. Brandon Jones, William Sawalich, and Taylor Gray will each compete full-time in the No. 20, No. 18, and No. 54 cars, respectively. Meanwhile, the No. 19 car will feature a rotating lineup of drivers, including NASCAR Modified standout Justin Bonsignore. The team has promised a complete driver schedule for the No. 19 will be announced at a later date.
Brandon Jones Returns to Familiar Territory
After a challenging 2023 and 2024 season with JR Motorsports, Brandon Jones is returning to Joe Gibbs Racing to pilot the No. 20 Toyota Supra. Jones, who spent five successful seasons with JGR from 2018 to 2022, brings valuable experience and multiple Xfinity Series wins back to the organization.
“This is home for me,” Jones said. “I’m excited to reunite with JGR and take on the challenge of competing for a championship. The No. 20 car has a legacy of success, and I’m ready to add to that history.”
Jones is expected to provide leadership within the team, particularly as two younger drivers, William Sawalich and Taylor Gray, transition into full-time Xfinity Series competition.
William Sawalich Takes the No. 18
16-year-old William Sawalich will take over the No. 18 Toyota Supra in 2025, making the leap from the ARCA Menards Series to the Xfinity Series. Sawalich impressed in ARCA with multiple wins and consistent performances, catching the attention of Toyota Racing Development and JGR leadership.
“This is a dream come true,” Sawalich said. “The opportunity to compete full-time in the Xfinity Series with JGR is incredible. I’ve learned a lot over the past few years, and I’m eager to take this next step in my career.”
Sawalich’s move aligns with JGR’s tradition of grooming young talent, and the team has high expectations for the promising driver.
Taylor Gray Steps Up to the No. 54
Taylor Gray, another rising star in the Toyota Racing Development pipeline, will pilot the No. 54 full-time in 2025. Gray has showcased his abilities in the Truck Series, earning top finishes and gaining a reputation as a fearless competitor.
“I’ve worked hard to get to this point, and I’m ready to prove myself in the Xfinity Series,” Gray said. “Driving for JGR is an honor, and I can’t wait to get started.”
The No. 54 team has historically been one of JGR’s most competitive entries, and Gray will look to continue that tradition as he embarks on his rookie campaign.
No. 19 to Feature Rotating Drivers
The No. 19 Toyota Supra will feature a mix of drivers in 2025, with Justin Bonsignore already confirmed as one of the pilots. Bonsignore, a three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion, brings a wealth of racing experience and will make select starts in the car throughout the season.
JGR has not yet announced the full roster of drivers for the No. 19 or the specific races each driver will compete in, leaving room for speculation about additional surprise appearances.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Joe Gibbs Racing enters the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season with a dynamic mix of veteran experience and young talent. With Jones anchoring the lineup, Sawalich and Gray bringing fresh energy, and the No. 19 serving as a developmental seat, the team is well-positioned to contend for wins and championships across the board.
The 2025 season kicks off at Daytona International Speedway, where fans will get their first look at JGR’s revamped Xfinity roster. As one of the sport’s most successful organizations, all eyes will be on how this next generation of drivers performs under the JGR banner.
