Three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore is set to take the next step in his racing career, announcing a nine-race NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) in 2024. Bonsignore will pilot the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra, beginning with his series debut at Daytona International Speedway.
A Big Opportunity with JGR
Bonsignore, one of the most accomplished Modified drivers of his generation, has long been known for his success on short tracks. Now, he’ll get the chance to prove himself on the national stage with one of the sport’s premier organizations. JGR’s No. 19 car has been a proven winner, and Bonsignore will have the chance to compete with top-tier equipment.
“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity with Joe Gibbs Racing,” Bonsignore said. “Moving to the Xfinity Series is a huge step, but I’m excited to get behind the wheel of the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra and compete at some of the biggest tracks in the sport.”
His 2024 Xfinity Schedule
While Bonsignore’s full schedule hasn’t been announced, his debut at Daytona will be a major test. The superspeedway presents a vastly different challenge than the Modified bullrings where he has built his reputation. However, his race craft and ability to adapt could make him a sleeper contender.
A Path to the Future?
This Xfinity Series opportunity could be the start of a larger NASCAR career for Bonsignore. If he performs well, it could open doors for additional races or even a full-time ride in the future. JGR has a history of developing talent, and Bonsignore will be looking to make the most of his shot.
With Modified stars like Ryan Preece and Doug Coby having made NASCAR national series starts, Bonsignore now has his own chance to showcase his abilities. Fans will be watching closely when he makes his Xfinity Series debut at Daytona.
