Justin Marks Advocates for ‘The Double’ as a Unifying Force in Motorsports

In the aftermath of Kyle Larson’s challenging attempt at “The Double”—competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 on the same day—Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks has voiced strong support for the endeavor, emphasizing its potential to bridge the gap between NASCAR and IndyCar.

Marks expressed empathy for Larson’s setbacks, stating, “My heart breaks for Kyle… I know how important the speedway is to him.” He further highlighted the need for collaboration between the two racing series, asserting, “I don’t think motorsports should be in competition with each other… I think there’s strength and collaboration between the two.”

Advocating for more drivers to attempt “The Double,” Marks believes such efforts can invigorate both sports. He remarked, “I’d like to see both NASCAR and IndyCar drivers try to complete the double and think it helps both sports.”

Larson’s attempt was marred by crashes in both races, leading to uncertainty about future endeavors. Despite the setbacks, Marks remains optimistic, urging industry leaders to facilitate such cross-series participation. He emphasized that “The Double” should be viewed not as a logistical challenge but as an opportunity to unite the motorsports community and captivate fans across disciplines.

As discussions continue, Marks’ advocacy underscores a vision of a more interconnected racing world, where collaboration supersedes competition, and shared experiences enrich the sport for drivers and fans alike.
