Kaulig Racing has announced major changes to its technical and leadership staff as the team prepares for the 2025 NASCAR season. Former Stewart-Haas Racing lead engineer Mike Cook has been named the team’s new Technical Director, bringing a wealth of experience to bolster the organization’s competitive edge.
In addition to Cook’s appointment, Kaulig Racing confirmed key updates to its crew chief lineup. Andrew Dickeson will take on the role of crew chief for the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro, guiding Ty Dillon in his second season with the team. Meanwhile, Trent Owens will continue to oversee operations for AJ Allmendinger and the No. 16 team.
Mike Cook Joins as Technical Director
Mike Cook’s appointment as Technical Director marks a significant step forward for Kaulig Racing. During his tenure at Stewart-Haas Racing, Cook played a pivotal role in developing race-winning cars, earning respect across the NASCAR garage for his technical acumen.
“We’re thrilled to have Mike Cook join our team,” said Chris Rice, President of Kaulig Racing. “Mike’s expertise and leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow and enhance our performance in the Cup and Xfinity Series. His experience at the highest level of competition aligns perfectly with our vision for success.”
Cook’s responsibilities will include overseeing vehicle development, technical strategy, and collaboration across the engineering and competition departments.
Crew Chief Assignments for 2025
Kaulig Racing also reshuffled its crew chief lineup to optimize performance:
• Andrew Dickeson and the No. 10 Team: Dickeson, a seasoned NASCAR veteran, will lead the No. 10 Chevrolet driven by Ty Dillon. With a focus on consistency and results, the pairing aims to build on Dillon’s progress during the 2024 season.
• Trent Owens and the No. 16 Team: Owens, a trusted figure within Kaulig Racing, will continue as AJ Allmendinger’s crew chief. Together, the duo has demonstrated strong synergy, particularly on road courses and superspeedways. Owens’ experience is expected to be key in guiding Allmendinger to further success in 2025.
Chris Rice emphasized the importance of these moves: “Both Andrew and Trent bring invaluable knowledge and leadership to their teams. We believe these changes will set the stage for a strong season and help Kaulig Racing contend at the highest level.”
Aiming for 2025 Success
With these strategic changes, Kaulig Racing is positioning itself for a competitive 2025 campaign. The team’s dual focus on developing technical capabilities and fostering strong leadership in the garage underscores its commitment to achieving success in both the NASCAR Cup Series and the Xfinity Series.
