Las Vegas native Kyle Busch is no stranger to the highs and lows of NASCAR. With a career filled with thrilling victories and hard-fought battles, “Rowdy” is now looking to snap his winless streak and return to Victory Lane at his home track, Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Busch sat down with former NASCAR champion and analyst Kevin Harvick to discuss the challenges of the Next Gen car and what it will take to secure a long-awaited win in Sin City. The conversation, part of NASCAR’s pre-race coverage, gave fans a glimpse into Busch’s mindset heading into one of the most important races of his season.
Taming the Next Gen Car
Since the introduction of the Next Gen car, drivers have faced an evolving learning curve. Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion, has been vocal about both the strengths and struggles that come with the new design. During his chat with Harvick, he highlighted how the car’s unique characteristics—such as its independent rear suspension, wider tires, and aerodynamic package—have changed the way he approaches each race.
“The Next Gen car has really leveled the playing field in some ways,” Busch admitted. “It’s a different challenge, but we’ve been working hard to find the right setup, especially for tracks like Vegas where you need speed and stability.”
A Hometown Win on the Horizon?
Busch’s last win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway came in 2009, a surprising drought given his success across all levels of racing. While he’s had strong performances at the 1.5-mile oval, victory has remained just out of reach. However, with solid speed in his car and a renewed focus, this could be the weekend he finally breaks through.
“There’s nothing like winning in front of your hometown crowd,” Busch said. “We’ve had some good runs here, and I feel like we’re close. Hopefully, we can put on a show for all the fans who have supported me since the beginning.”
With race day approaching, all eyes will be on Rowdy to see if he can reclaim his place in Victory Lane. If there’s one thing fans know about Kyle Busch, it’s that he thrives under pressure—especially when the stakes are high. Vegas might just be the place where his luck turns around.
