Marcus Armstrong Confident in Smooth Transition to Meyer Shank Racing Through Ganassi Alliance

Marcus Armstrong is set to embark on a new chapter in his IndyCar career in 2025 with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR), but thanks to the team’s new alliance with Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR), the New Zealander expects the transition to be seamless.

Armstrong, who has spent the past two seasons with Ganassi, will move to MSR as part of a strengthened technical partnership between the two organizations. Speaking about the change, Armstrong expressed confidence that the collaboration will help him quickly adapt to his new surroundings.

A Strategic Alliance for Success

In late 2024, Meyer Shank Racing announced an expanded alliance with Chip Ganassi Racing, aimed at improving MSR’s overall performance. While MSR will continue to operate independently, the technical support and knowledge-sharing with Ganassi will provide crucial benefits—especially for a driver like Armstrong, who is already familiar with the CGR system.

“This alliance should really help my transition,” Armstrong said. “I’ve worked with a lot of people at Ganassi, and knowing that there’s still a connection makes it a lot easier heading into next season.”

The move keeps Armstrong within the Honda-powered ranks while allowing him to take on a full-time role with MSR.

No Stress Despite Uncertain 2024 Future

For much of the 2024 season, Armstrong’s future remained unclear. With Ganassi’s roster filling up, he was left searching for an opportunity beyond 2024. However, the uncertainty didn’t weigh on him.

“I wasn’t stressed during that time,” Armstrong said. “I had confidence that things would work out, and I knew there were good opportunities out there.”

His patience paid off when MSR, looking to strengthen its driver lineup, brought him on board.

Looking Ahead to 2025

With MSR’s technical partnership with Ganassi in place and Armstrong securing a full-time ride, expectations will be high for the Kiwi heading into 2025. As he continues to develop as a driver, the resources from both teams could put him in a position to contend for podiums and, potentially, victories.

Now that his future is set, Armstrong can focus on what matters most—delivering strong results and proving that MSR’s alliance with Ganassi can be a game-changer in the competitive world of IndyCar racing.
