Fate intervened in the form of a serendipitous meeting. Briscoe’s father, while in Las Vegas, crossed paths with a NASCAR fan who turned out to be Mike Mendiburu, the CEO of HighPoint.com. Initially, Mendiburu was hesitant about sponsoring a race car, having previously declined similar opportunities. However, after understanding the gravity of Briscoe’s situation, he felt a compelling urge to assist. Briscoe recounted, “Mike’s like, I have no idea why I’m doing this, but it seems like lord’s calling me to do it; alright, I am gonna do it.”
The HighPoint Partnership
HighPoint’s decision to sponsor Briscoe was transformative. Their partnership began in late 2019, with HighPoint becoming the primary partner of Briscoe’s No. 98 Ford Mustang in the Xfinity Series. This collaboration not only salvaged Briscoe’s career but also propelled him to new heights. In the 2020 season, he clinched nine victories in the Xfinity Series, showcasing his talent and justifying HighPoint’s investment.
