In a candid discussion about NASCAR’s evolving media landscape, Chief Brand Officer Tim Clark opened up about the initial hesitation surrounding the sport’s new, multi-network broadcasting approach — and how it’s now shaping up to be one of the most strategic moves in recent NASCAR history.

Clark admitted there was “trepidation” early on within NASCAR leadership over the decision to partner with five diverse broadcast networks — each with its own tone, style, and audience reach. The move, however, was fully endorsed by NASCAR Chairman Jim France, who viewed the bold plan as a unique opportunity to expand the sport’s visibility and appeal.
“Jim France has been clear from the start,” Clark said. “Having five of the biggest brands in broadcasting — each with incentive to promote and push NASCAR — is incredibly powerful. It means our sport is being championed across multiple platforms and fan bases.”
The upcoming media cycle will see NASCAR content spread across FOX Sports, NBC Sports, Amazon Prime Video, Warner Bros. Discovery (TNT Sports), and The CW, offering fans more ways than ever to engage with the sport — from network television to streaming and digital platforms.
Clark noted that while the plan generated internal debate and logistical challenges, the results have already begun to justify the risk.
“There were some surprises along the way,” he acknowledged. “But every challenge has brought new opportunities. The collaboration between these networks is something we’ve never seen before in NASCAR — and the energy behind it is exciting.”
The diverse media lineup is designed to reach both longtime fans and younger audiences, blending traditional coverage with fresh, innovative storytelling formats.
As NASCAR continues to modernize its approach to broadcasting and fan engagement, Clark’s reflections underscore a central theme: growth through diversity — in voices, platforms, and perspectives.
“At the end of the day,” Clark added, “it’s all about getting more people talking about NASCAR — and that’s exactly what’s happening.”
