NASCAR Expands Sustainability Efforts with 30 EV Chargers at Daytona HQ

As part of its ongoing NASCAR Impact Plan, NASCAR has installed 30 electric vehicle (EV) chargers at its Daytona Beach headquarters, providing charging access for employees and industry members. The move aligns with NASCAR’s broader commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.

Accelerating the Shift to Sustainable Mobility

The new EV chargers were installed in partnership with ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation. A company spokesperson emphasized the importance of integrating EV infrastructure into key locations like NASCAR HQ:

“Electrifying real estate like parking at NASCAR headquarters puts these assets to work, accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility.”

The addition of these chargers supports the growing number of EV users within the NASCAR community, offering convenience while promoting cleaner energy use.

NASCAR’s Sustainability Push

The EV charger installation is part of NASCAR’s Impact Plan, a multi-faceted initiative that includes:

• Carbon footprint reduction across NASCAR operations.

• Sustainable fuel use in its racing series.

• Renewable energy investments at tracks and facilities.

NASCAR has already made strides in eco-friendly fuel innovations, with its top series running on a blend of Sunoco Green E15, a high-ethanol-content fuel that lowers emissions. Additionally, some tracks, like Sonoma Raceway, have introduced solar energy initiatives to power their operations.

Looking Ahead

As the auto industry continues shifting toward electrification, NASCAR is taking steps to align with the future of mobility while staying true to its racing DNA. The installation of EV chargers at its Daytona headquarters is just one of many sustainability initiatives expected in the coming years.
