Some of NASCAR’s biggest legends are set to take the track once again, as Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Ken Schrader, Bobby Labonte, and Bill Elliott will compete in the IROC group at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from August 13-16, 2025.

This special event will bring back the International Race of Champions (IROC) in a historic exhibition, allowing fans to relive the iconic all-star series that once pitted the best drivers from NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula 1, and sports cars against each other in equal machinery.

A Legendary Lineup of NASCAR Icons

The event will feature five of NASCAR’s most accomplished drivers, all of whom had success in the original IROC series:

• Jeff Gordon – Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and three-time IROC champion (1995, 1997, 1998).

• Mark Martin – Five-time IROC champion (1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2005), the most in series history.

• Ken Schrader – Former IROC competitor and longtime fan-favorite NASCAR driver.

• Bobby Labonte – 2000 NASCAR Cup Series champion and former IROC race winner.

• Bill Elliott – 1988 NASCAR Cup Series champion and former IROC race winner.

These legendary drivers will return to the track in classic IROC stock cars, reviving the series’ legacy at one of America’s most famous road courses.

IROC’s Legacy and Its Return to the Track

The IROC series ran from 1973 to 2006, creating some of the most exciting moments in motorsports history by placing elite drivers from different disciplines in identical cars. Mark Martin dominated the series with a record five championships, while Jeff Gordon and Bill Elliott each had standout performances.

While the series officially ended in 2006, the IROC group at Laguna Seca will give fans a rare chance to see these legends back in action, competing in a way that honors the spirit of the original series.
