NASCAR Set to Return to Historic North Carolina Track with Sold-Out Crowd in Attendance

In a landmark moment for motorsports, NASCAR is set to return to the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina for the 2025 All-Star Race, scheduled for May 18. This event marks the third consecutive year the All-Star Race will be held at this iconic venue, following its successful revival in 2023 after a 27-year hiatus.

A Storied Legacy Reawakened

North Wilkesboro Speedway, a 0.625-mile oval nestled in Wilkes County, is one of NASCAR’s original tracks, hosting its first race in 1947 and the inaugural NASCAR-sanctioned event in 1949. The track was a staple in the NASCAR circuit until its closure in 1996. Efforts to rejuvenate the speedway culminated in significant renovations, including its first repaving since 1981, allowing for the triumphant return of top-tier NASCAR events.
