NASCAR driver Chase Briscoe and his team, Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), have been penalized for modifications made to the spoiler of the No. 19 Toyota during the Daytona 500.

The infractions were discovered during a post-race inspection at NASCAR’s Research & Development Center, as the spoiler base—a single-source part—had been altered, violating NASCAR regulations.
The penalties imposed include:
- Chase Briscoe: Deduction of 100 driver points and 10 playoff points, dropping him from 10th to 39th in the standings with negative-67 points.
- Joe Gibbs Racing: Fined $100,000 and docked 100 owner points and 10 playoff points.
- Crew Chief James Small: Suspended for four races.
In response, JGR stated that the issue arose during the assembly process, where bolts used to attach the spoiler base to the deck lid caused pre-drilled holes to wear due to supplied part interferences. The team plans to appeal the penalties.

Chase Briscoe addressed the situation on social media, expressing gratitude towards NASCAR for the opportunity to present their evidence and thanking everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing for their efforts in preparing the appeal.
The appeal is scheduled to be heard on March 5.
