May 16, 2025

In a historic collaboration between streaming giants, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have joined forces to produce a $15.5 million documentary chronicling the legacy, drama, and raw power of America’s most iconic dirt track—Eldora Speedway. Set to spotlight the legendary Tony Stewart and dirt track rebel Scott Bloomquist, the film promises to deliver an unforgettable ride through the mud, myths, and motorsports history of a racing institution.

“From Dirt to Dynasty” – The Eldora Story

Titled From Dirt to Dynasty, the documentary will peel back the layers of Eldora Speedway’s legacy, a half-mile clay oval located in Rossburg, Ohio, which has been a mecca for grassroots racing since its founding in 1954. Once just a small-town track, Eldora has grown into a cultural and competitive powerhouse, drawing thousands of fans and some of the biggest names in motorsports.

Tony Stewart, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and current owner of Eldora Speedway, is not only featured but also signed on as an executive producer. According to Stewart, this project has been in the works for over a year and aims to “preserve and celebrate the soul of dirt racing.”

“This isn’t just a racing story—it’s a story about grit, passion, and the people who live and breathe this world,” Stewart said. “We’re taking fans inside the garages, onto the dirt, and into the hearts of those who’ve made Eldora a legend.”

Scott Bloomquist: The Controversial Legend

Alongside Stewart, the film will also feature in-depth interviews and exclusive footage of Scott Bloomquist, the enigmatic and controversial late model racing icon known as much for his rebellious attitude as for his unmatched skill on the track. Love him or hate him, Bloomquist’s presence will add a raw, unfiltered edge to the documentary.

Producers are promising a “warts-and-all” portrayal—one that doesn’t shy away from the rivalries, setbacks, and behind-the-scenes drama that shaped these men and the track itself.

High Production, High Expectations

With a reported budget of $15.5 million, the production will include archival footage, dramatic reenactments, high-definition race coverage, and intimate behind-the-scenes moments. Filming is already underway, with crews embedded at Eldora through the summer to capture marquee events like the Dirt Late Model Dream and Kings Royal.

The project marks a rare collaboration between Netflix and Amazon Prime Video—typically competitors in the streaming space—signaling the scale and potential cultural impact of the documentary.

Why Now?

Dirt racing is experiencing a mainstream renaissance, with growing fanbases and renewed interest from media and sponsors. This documentary aims to capitalize on that momentum and introduce the thrilling chaos of dirt track racing to a global audience.

Release Date

From Dirt to Dynasty is scheduled for a joint premiere in early 2026 on both platforms, with rumors swirling about a limited theatrical release and potential appearances at major film festivals.

For motorsports fans, this is more than just a documentary—it’s a moment in history. Buckle up.
