RFK Racing Appoints Veteran Crew Chief Derrick Finley to Lead No. 60 Team with Ryan Preece for 2025 NASCAR Cup Series

RFK Racing has officially appointed veteran crew chief Derrick Finley to lead the No. 60 team, with Ryan Preece as the driver, for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Finley, who joined RFK Racing in 2022, brings over two decades of NASCAR experience to the role. His extensive background includes positions as Director of Operations, Technical Director, and Competition Director, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of race car dynamics and team management. Expressing enthusiasm for his new position, Finley stated, “I am incredibly excited to lead the No. 60 team. I’m looking forward to working with Ryan and the entire team. It’s a great opportunity to help start up a new team as we continue to grow at RFK Racing.”

Ryan Preece, 34, joins RFK Racing following the closure of Stewart-Haas Racing’s operations at the end of the 2024 season. With prior stints at JTG-Daugherty Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing, Preece is eager to leverage this new opportunity to secure his first Cup Series victory. He remarked, “It’s somewhere that these guys had speed last year… For me, it’s a great opportunity, one that’s filled with pressure. But I think if you’ve looked at my career in those pressure-type situations, I’ve succeeded. I’m grateful for the opportunity.”

The addition of the No. 60 team expands RFK Racing’s lineup to three cars, alongside the No. 6 driven by co-owner Brad Keselowski and the No. 17 piloted by Chris Buescher. Keselowski highlighted the strategic advantage of this expansion, noting, “Having a third team gives us another shot … … Our goal is to be an … .”

As the 2025 season approaches, the collaboration between Finley and Preece is anticipated to enhance the competitiveness of the No. 60 team. Their combined experience and determination aim to contribute significantly to RFK Racing’s pursuit of excellence in the NASCAR Cup Series.
