Daytona Beach, Fla. — After a grueling 24 hours of racing at the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona, Scott Dixon emerged with a hard-fought second-place finish, teaming with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) in the GTP class. The six-time IndyCar champion and endurance racing veteran joined MSR’s Acura ARX-06 lineup for the iconic race, offering his experience and precision driving to the effort.

Though the team fell just short of victory, Dixon expressed satisfaction with the effort while also looking ahead to the 2025 IndyCar season, where Chip Ganassi Racing will collaborate with Meyer Shank Racing in a new technical alliance.
Reflecting on the Race
“It’s always tough to come this close and not take the win,” Dixon said. “But at the same time, I’m incredibly proud of what this team accomplished. The Meyer Shank guys gave it everything, and to finish second in a field this competitive is a testament to their preparation and execution.”
Dixon shared driving duties with Tom Blomqvist, Colin Braun, and Helio Castroneves in the No. 60 Acura. The team led several laps throughout the race and remained in contention until the final hours, only to be outpaced by the winning No. 7 Penske Porsche.
“Endurance racing is a different kind of beast,” Dixon noted. “You need speed, strategy, and a little bit of luck. We had two out of three, and sometimes that’s just how it goes. But I’m grateful for the opportunity to race with these guys.”
Building Chemistry Ahead of IndyCar Season
The Rolex 24 provided a unique opportunity for Dixon to build familiarity with MSR, as the two teams prepare to partner in the upcoming IndyCar season. The alliance between Ganassi and MSR will include shared resources, data, and technical support, aiming to strengthen both programs in the competitive IndyCar landscape.
“Racing with MSR this weekend was a great way to kickstart the partnership,” Dixon said. “It gave me a chance to see how they operate up close, and I’ve got to say, they’re an impressive group. The collaboration between our teams is only going to make us stronger.”
Aiming for IndyCar Success
With the 2025 IndyCar season on the horizon, Dixon is optimistic about the impact the Ganassi-MSR alliance will have on the championship battle. Ganassi remains one of the premier teams in IndyCar, and the addition of MSR to the fold promises to bring new perspectives and resources.

“IndyCar is more competitive than ever, and any advantage you can get is crucial,” Dixon said. “MSR has already shown what they’re capable of, and I think the knowledge-sharing between our teams will elevate both programs. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together.”
Moving Forward
While the Rolex 24 result wasn’t exactly what Dixon and MSR had hoped for, the experience laid a strong foundation for their collaboration in 2025. With Dixon’s sights now set on capturing a seventh IndyCar
