Shane van Gisbergen, the three-time Supercars champion from New Zealand, is making waves in the NASCAR world as he embarks on his full-time debut in the 2025 Cup Series. After a historic win in his first NASCAR Cup Series race in Chicago in 2023, van Gisbergen has transitioned from a part-time participant to a full-time competitor, aiming for the prestigious Rookie of the Year title.

In 2024, van Gisbergen honed his skills across NASCAR’s national series, including a notable victory in the Xfinity Series at Portland International Raceway, where he overtook Justin Allgaier in the final laps to secure his first Xfinity win.
Despite his road course prowess, van Gisbergen acknowledges the challenges of oval racing, a staple in NASCAR. “I know I can do the job. … It’s just time. I know I can get there. It’s just how long it’s going to take on the oval side,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to mastering all aspects of the sport.
Now driving the No. 88 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing, van Gisbergen is focused on consistent performance and growth. “I don’t go racing with goals,” he explained. “Just doing my best every week and just have the same approach every week.”
As the 2025 season unfolds, van Gisbergen’s blend of international experience and dedication positions him as a strong contender for Rookie of the Year, marking an exciting new chapter in his racing career.
