NASCAR has reaffirmed its commitment to hosting the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race in Mexico City this June, dispelling recent social media rumors suggesting otherwise.

Brad Moran, NASCAR’s Cup Series Managing Director, stated unequivocally that the event will proceed as scheduled.
The historic race is set for Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the renowned Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. This marks the first time since 1958 that a NASCAR points-paying Cup Series race will be held outside the United States.
The 2.674-mile, 17-turn road course, which sits at an elevation of 7,342 feet, has previously hosted Formula 1 and other international racing events.
The race weekend will feature a series of events, including:
- Friday, June 13: NASCAR Mexico Series race
- Saturday, June 14: NASCAR Xfinity Series race
- Sunday, June 15: NASCAR Cup Series race
Tickets for the event went on sale last week, coinciding with a significant media event at the track attended by NASCAR drivers Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, Daniel Suárez, and Chase Elliott.
The addition of the Mexico City race is part of NASCAR’s broader strategy to expand its international footprint.
Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President and Chief Racing Development Officer, emphasized the significance of this move, stating, “We’ve been bold about our intentions to grow on a global scale, and there isn’t a better place to take the next step in that journey than at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez road course in Mexico City.”

Fans can look forward to a weekend of thrilling racing action, with the Cup Series race airing live on Prime Video and the Xfinity Series race broadcast on The CW.
