Halloween brings a feast of flat and jump racing across Britain, with action on the level from Bath (12.58-4.28), Southwell (4.10-8.15), and Chelmsford (4.30-8.30).
Meanwhile, Stratford (1.05) and Newcastle (1.15-4.15) host the obstacle races.
(Unfortunately, the scheduled National Hunt meeting at Thurles had to be called off.
For the second time this month, the venue has been left too dry due to a lack of rain.)
Among today’s promising entries is a 10-year-old who’s returned to form in recent months, aiming to improve on two previous second-place finishes.

Horse racing tips: Newcastle, 2.45 Three-time chase winner FLIC OU VOYOU looks to continue his strong form and secure a victory today.
He’s proven over two-and-a-half miles, particularly on quicker ground, with all wins on good to soft or faster. Previously successful off a mark of 137, he now runs off a much lower number.
Although past his peak at 117, recent efforts show he can still be competitive with a rating in the 110s.
His last two runner-up finishes raised his mark, including one where he forced a dead heat only to lose in a stewards’ inquiry.
Formerly trained by Paul Nicholls and now with Henry Hogarth, this 10-year-old gelding should be a strong contender with favorable conditions today.
Danny McMenamin rides him for the seventh consecutive time.
Horse racing tips: Southwell, 6.15 STREET KID nearly caused an upset last time out, finishing second at Newmarket at 33-1. In calmer waters today, he should be competitive.
His last win came on the all-weather, taking the victory at Wolverhampton in March off a rating just 1lb below his current mark of 91.
Though he’s only run at Southwell once, it was a solid effort – finishing second and beaten by a neck in a strong field. This race should be less challenging.
Trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy’s charge is in good form, and with things going his way, he should be in contention.
Benoit Sayette takes the reins for the third time since August.
Horse racing tips: Chelmsford, 4.30 FIFTH COLUMN has shown steady improvement in three maiden starts, earning a mark of 82, though connections are keeping him in novice company for now.
Among the three rated runners in the field, he holds the joint highest figure of 82. If anyone is to challenge him, it’s likely to be one of the lesser-experienced rivals.
The races Fifth Column has contested seem stronger than those of many of today’s rivals.
The horse he finished behind last time, Consolidation, is now rated 90, signaling his potential for open company.
The Kingman colt, trained by John and Thady Gosden, comes in with the best form and room to improve, making him the favorite to win.
