Chandler Smith to Drive for Garage 66 in 2025 Daytona 500 After Mike Wallace’s Entry Denied

In a recent development, Garage 66, formerly known as MBM Motorsports, has enlisted 22-year-old Chandler Smith to drive the No. 66 Ford Mustang in an attempt to qualify for the 2025 Daytona 500.

This decision follows NASCAR’s refusal to approve veteran driver Mike Wallace’s entry due to his prolonged absence from top-tier competition.

Team owner Carl Long expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating, “I am super pleased to have Chandler in our seat. He has friends behind the wheel of the other cars.”

Chandler Smith, a promising talent in NASCAR, has previously competed in the Truck Series under Front Row Motorsports and has made select Xfinity Series starts.

His collaboration with Garage 66 represents a significant opportunity to showcase his skills on one of the sport’s biggest stages.

The rebranding of MBM Motorsports to Garage 66 and the recruitment of Smith underscore the team’s commitment to evolving and remaining competitive in the NASCAR Cup Series.

As the Daytona 500 approaches, all eyes will be on Smith and the No. 66 team as they strive to secure a spot in the iconic race.
