The motorsport spotlight will be shining on the Rolex 24 at Daytona this weekend, where Chip Ganassi Racing and Meyer Shank Racing are set to kick off their new technical alliance. As two of the most prominent teams in IndyCar and sports car racing, the partnership aims to elevate both programs in the highly competitive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and beyond.

This weekend’s endurance classic will serve as the first major test of their collaboration, with drivers from both teams joining forces across two Acura ARX-06 prototypes in the GTP class. Among the standout names are IndyCar veterans Felix Rosenqvist and Scott Dixon, who will share driving duties in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura. Meanwhile, 2023 IndyCar champion Alex Palou will pilot the No. 93 Chip Ganassi Racing Acura.
A Star-Studded Lineup
The No. 60 entry boasts a formidable lineup of Rosenqvist, Dixon, Tom Blomqvist, and Colin Braun. Dixon, a six-time IndyCar champion and three-time Rolex 24 winner, brings unmatched endurance racing experience, while Rosenqvist, fresh off a move to Meyer Shank in IndyCar, is eager to make his mark in his first race with the team.
“I’ve always enjoyed competing in endurance racing, and the chance to work with Scott, Tom, and Colin this weekend is an incredible opportunity,” Rosenqvist said. “The level of preparation at Meyer Shank and this new collaboration with Ganassi adds a new layer of excitement for me.”
The No. 93 entry will be equally strong, with Palou joining forces with Sébastien Bourdais, Renger van der Zande, and Jack Aitken. Palou, who made his IMSA debut last year, is aiming for a strong showing as he continues to expand his skillset in sports car racing.
“This is a new challenge, but one I’m really excited about,” Palou said. “Driving for Ganassi in an event as big as the Rolex 24 is special, and I’m looking forward to working with Sébastien, Renger, and Jack to deliver a strong performance.”
Strengthening the Alliance
The Ganassi-Meyer Shank partnership is built on shared resources and technical collaboration, a strategy both teams hope will yield success not just at Daytona but throughout their respective seasons.
“Having this technical alliance allows us to pool knowledge and push the boundaries of what we can achieve together,” said Mike Shank, co-owner of Meyer Shank Racing. “We’re excited to see what we can accomplish this weekend and throughout the year.”
For Chip Ganassi Racing, the alliance presents an opportunity to reinforce its already dominant GTP program. “It’s all about working smarter and maximizing our combined expertise,” said Chip Ganassi. “This race is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.”

A Shared Goal at Daytona
With two powerhouse organizations and a star-studded driver lineup, expectations are high for both the No. 60 and No. 93 cars. While endurance racing is notoriously unpredictable, the Ganassi-Meyer Shank alliance has positioned itself as a serious contender for overall victory at Daytona.
As Rosenqvist, Dixon, and Palou take to the track this weekend, all eyes will be on how this new partnership translates into performance. Whether they’re battling for position in the closing hours of the race or simply gaining valuable data for the future, the Rolex 24 will undoubtedly set the tone for an exciting 2025 season.
