Charlotte, NC – Grammy-winning artist and global superstar Armando Christian Pérez, better known as Pitbull, has officially stepped away from his ownership role at Trackhouse Racing, the NASCAR Cup Series team announced Friday. The move is effective immediately, marking the end of Pitbull’s involvement with the organization he joined in 2021.

Pitbull’s Statement on His Departure
In his announcement, Pitbull expressed gratitude for his time with Team Trackhouse, highlighting the success and impact the team has had since its formation.
“Being part of Trackhouse Racing has been an incredible journey,” Pitbull said. “I’ve loved seeing the growth of this team and the impact we’ve made together. While I’m stepping away from ownership, I’ll always be a fan of Trackhouse and NASCAR.”
Trackhouse’s Rise and Pitbull’s Role
Pitbull joined Justin Marks’ Trackhouse Racing as a co-owner in 2021, bringing mainstream visibility to the team and helping expand NASCAR’s appeal to new audiences. Under his tenure, Trackhouse became one of the most competitive new teams in the sport, earning multiple wins with drivers Ross Chastain and Daniel Suárez.
Beyond the racetrack, Pitbull played a role in promoting NASCAR’s diversity initiatives, using his global platform to introduce new fans to the sport. His involvement also helped Trackhouse land key sponsorships and elevate its brand outside of traditional racing circles.

What’s Next for Trackhouse?
Despite Pitbull’s departure, Trackhouse Racing remains a powerhouse in the NASCAR Cup Series, with Marks continuing to lead the team. The organization recently expanded its footprint with the addition of Zane Smith, who is set to make his Cup Series debut under Trackhouse’s alliance with Spire Motorsports.
While Pitbull’s exit marks the end of an era for Trackhouse, his influence on the team—and on NASCAR—won’t be forgotten.
